To All the Staff at Hampton Roads Eye Associates with special attention to Dr. Oppenheim:

I just wanted to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful treatment and care you all showed to me following my recent PRK surgery (November 2009).

Before I came into the office for the operation, I was very nervous and daunted by the fear of the unknown but you were all so kind and reassuring when I arrived this took away a lot of my apprehension.

You demonstrated your total commitment into caring for me when I was helpless in the days immediately following the operation and also gave me the support and encouragement I needed to take my first steps on the road to “the sighted world” which meant so much to me.

I’d like to particularly thank Dr. Oppenheim who provided me (as well as other patients) with his personal cell phone number. Further, I would like to thank the surgical team for their expertise in the operating theatre and for their post-operative support. Lastly, Sherri who provides the PRK/LASIK information and answers any and all questions was absolutely wonderful!

Thanks to you all, I’m now able to look forward to a long-held dream which is seeing without glasses or contacts for which I have worn for 28 years. Without your help, this would not have been possible so you can imagine how grateful I am.

I am extremely pleased with my PRK experience with Dr. Seth Oppenheim, and the Hampton Roads Eye Associates staff. Every morning I wake up and grin because I can see everything around me. This past weekend I was working on my house, and the task required I wear safety goggles. It was the first time I was able to put on goggles and there was no discomfort because my glasses were underneath, and I did not have to worry about dust going under my contact lenses. I am very excited about an upcoming trip where I will be able to swim underwater and see my surroundings for the first time in over two decades. I still cannot believe I see so well each day, having worn glasses since the age of seven, and I am extremely appreciative of the care and surgery received from the Hampton Roads Eye Associates. Thank you very much for letting me see!

PRK Surgery

If there's a new way to describe a miracle - this surgery would be it. Since I was 8 years old I've worn glasses. When contacts became popular I was determined to find the type that would work for me but after trying every kind available; the glasses went back on my face and stayed for 20 years!

This surgery has been an incredible enhancement! If there's a downside at all it would be that I've probably gone a little 'designer sunglass' crazy.

If I'd known it worked this well ... I would have done it long ago.
